The Storm

 I truly believe it is a choice to find your joy. I choose to find strength from within and surround myself with that which feeds my soul. I have from a young age felt glass calling me to create. It is through creating I am able to shut off the noise, worry and pain that life throws at me.
I have spent time exploring the ocean and its parallels to glass and life. Each is affected by the world around them. When glass is hot enough, it flows like water. It can be smooth and inviting, or when broken it can be sharp and inflict pain. The ocean can be calm enough to float for hours, or have waves strong enough to reshape the coast. Even with these two sides the constant is the ocean itself. This piece focuses on how It never surrenders to the storm, it uses that which surrounds it to change or move into the next phase. My work as a reminder to focus on what helped you through the storm, rather than the storm itself.
